South Farmingdale is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population of the CDP was 14,486 at the 2010 census. The area is often identified as part of Farmingdale,〔Road signs erected by the county at the southeast corner of the CDP (along Main Street, about a mile from the Village of Farmingdale) welcome travelers to Farmingdale.〕 and is served by the Farmingdale Post Office, Farmingdale School District, and Farmingdale Library. ==Geography== South Farmingdale is located at (40.718195, -73.445558). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), all land.
